July 18th 2013...A Day to Remember

There are many many more pictures to come, but I had to post a few of the memories from the past few days in Wheaton. These days were filled with rich fellowship with dear friends, much laughter, definitely a few tears of joy and much much gratefulness for all God has done and is doing in all of our lives - especially the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Levi Benson :) I'm afraid I managed to forget my camera altogether on this trip, so the following are through the lens of the iPhone. But I hope you can see the hearts full of joy, spilling into worship behind these pictures.

July Moments...

I began this post with the intention of organizing a few thoughts and quotes from recent reading that are tumbling about in my brain. But as you can see, it's already midnight and I havent yet gotten beyond the images which represent some of the joys of the last week or so. I believe this will have to wrap up as Part I - so stay tuned for some quotes from George McDonald, Ravi Zacharias, J.R.R. Tolkien and Jonathan Edwards, and if you have the patience for it, my own rambling connections between them!

1) A beautiful Fourth of July drive with the family out into the country ending with a stroll by the river.

2) Time to read and savor wonderful literature. (And of course the chocolate which should - and did - accompany such occasions)

 3) Precious time spent with my siblings, including a couple of rounds of Scrabble :)
 (And more reading, of course)

4) Summer Afternoon Thunder Storms

5) Today's lunch. Pretty much perfection in my book...

6) The process and final completion of renovating my music studio here in Virginia. My favorite part? This gorgeous 1930's radio which is now nestled into the front corner of the room. I'm in the process of rewiring my Bose sound system through this 3 1/2 foot tall piece of history, so let this serve as my personal invitation to come by for a cup of tea and a concert of your choice! :)

7) Excited preparation for next week's wedding back in Wheaton!! Jaime and Levi are a beautiful glimpse of what pure, Christ-imaging love can look like,  and I cant wait to celebrate the union of these two in just a few short days!
